THOUGHTS
I really think that LIFE is simpler that I make it most of the time. It’s
for sure that I can take a project or and issue and make more of it than I
needed to.
Ps 136:1 Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, For His
lovingkindness is everlasting.
[KJV has for his mercy endureth for ever:]
Probably this Psalm was designed for public reading where the first part was
read, and the listeners responded each time... “For His
lovingkindness is everlasting”
So 26 times in this chapter is the declaration about God’s lovingkindness being
forever!
I think, Repetition is good. It shows praise to God and reminds the
people of an important fact!
A lot of practical things are mentioned in this chapter. The creation,
the history of God choosing Israel and his caring for his people through
promise. It is a reminder of God’s goodness and rightness!
I need to be reminded every day of JUST HOW BLESSED I AM!
I need to be reminded of WHO THE BLESSER IS!
If I can get these two simple facts implanted in my heart, I should be
able to joyfully deal with the rest of life.
1Cor 3:21-23 So then let no one boast in men. For all things
belong to you, 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life
or death or things present or things to come; all things belong to you, 23
and you belong to Christ; and Christ belongs to God.
Brother Marshal Keeble [ mid 1900's] used to say of this area... “So I
figure if I belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God... The devil’s
got to go through both of them to get to me!”
My Prayer:
Accept our love and our praise Oh God as we approach your throne. Thank
you for listening to us. Help us to lift you up as we live. Draw us
to you, for that is our desire. We wish to abide in your presence Oh
Father of heaven. Remind us that you are the great blesser. Remind
us of your blessings toward us. You are so good to us. Surely your
lovingkindness is forever! We long to be in your presence in your glory!
In the name of Jesus our Lord
Amen
